
S. CARTER GANNON JR.
Bio
Carter Gannon was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. He moved to Southern California in 2021 in order to continue his service as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the United States Marine Corps.
Carter is a dedicated attorney with experience in both the military and civilian sectors. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law, which he attended as a merit scholarship recipient. While there, he also worked for the Child Advocacy Section of the Oregon Department of Justice, was an Oregon Child Advocacy Project Fellow, and volunteered with the Oregon Law Domestic Violence Clinic.
Before law school, Carter attended The Citadel on a full academic scholarship. And while there, he earned dual bachelor's degrees in Spanish and History and graduated cum laude.
Prior to joining Cosgrove, Humphrey, and Weisman, Carter most recently served as a Legal Assistance Attorney in the Marine Corps. In that position, he represented Marines and their families in various civil matters and legally prepared them for overseas deployments. He has also previously represented victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and defended Marines in various courts-martial proceedings.
